Some of you caught our Instagram Story last week where we asked you to ask Steak King a question.
Scroll to the bottom to view the video we recorded of some of the Q&A, but if you’re looking to get deeper inside the mind of a King, keep reading! (If you wrote a question and you don’t see it here - we’re sorry! We weren’t able to write them all down before the Insta story expired!)
@elevatormusic: How did you become such a steak savant?
SK: I guess I was just born this way. Lucky to come from a long line of talented grill masters.
@bryonongiraffes: When I see your steak, I picture Ryan Reynolds behind the camera.
SK: Thank you! Hopefully the real thing isn’t too much of a disappointment.
@stuartza: How many steaks can you eat in one sitting?
SK: Just one, I’m not some kind of savage.
@darksideofthegrill: Are you going to come with the Machine to Calgary AB to meet this Dark Side of the Grill and do a big beef?
SK: I would love to!
@beekokat: No question but request for more steak videos.
SK: You’re in luck! We are in the middle of shooting 2 right now.
@blazerbob: Are your steaks pre-tenderized or do you beat your own meat?
SK: Typically, I don’t really beat my meat. I tenderize with salt.
@wakkajr: Heavy is the head that wears the steak’s crown?
SK: As a matter of fact, yes. At 7.5, my hat size is a bit larger than average. This big noggin’ is heavier than most.
@loladesign_co: How much has Bert influenced your views on steak?
SK: He hasn’t influenced my views per se, but I do eat a hell of a lot more steak now.
@coronelmm: What makes a steak … great?
SK: Quality meat, good fat and salt. Let’s #makesteakgreatagain!
@joshdadams00: Why is Bert fat?
SK: That sounds like a question for Tom Segura.
@vdg_brian: How does the steak king feel about wild game steaks? Love wild game...
SK: I’m a city guy, so wild game doesn’t come around very often. But I'm always game for some good wild game. Send some on over!
@magduhlin: Steak? Steak? STEAK?
SK: Yes. Yes. YES!
@joshpmorales: T-bone or ribeye?
SK: They’re both great, but I like ribeye it has a little more fat - and fat is flavor.
@beto_1458: If you could have a steak show how would you run it? For example would it be comedic or educational?
SK: If I could get paid to do this, I could die happy. It would have to be a little of both. I’d also want to get more people involved with #steaknation. Maybe interview chefs, comedians, or … chef/comedians!
@jlowder2: Best garnish for a steak?
SK: One baby carrot.
@b_rad2o12: Favorite cut of beef you love to grill?
SK: I’m going to decline to answer this. I don’t want to make the other cuts of beef jealous.
@cod_5528: Can we see you on Bert’s cooking show? Maybe a Steak King takeover episode w Matty Matheson and Action Bronson?
SK: You, my friend, are a genius. I’d love nothing more.
@cain_iii: How much steak would the steak king eat if the steak king could eat as much steak as he could?
SK: About as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a could chuck wood.
@jamesgween: Best steak you’ve had in the past month from a restaurant?
SK: I’m going to hold off on answering this. I’m heading to Texas tonight - there’s definitely some good eatin’ in the motherland.
@thesinglegreenlight: What’s your favorite food?
SK: When I’m not eating steak, you can find me eating cheese enchiladas.
@hollman33: How do you know when your steaks are ready to have sex with?
SK: A gentleman never talks.
@hunter.satterwhite: Sous vide or no?
SK: I’ve never tried it, but I’m sous vide curious.
@tylerlindvall: What’s your worst advice on any topic?
SK: Believe everything you read online.
@katiecerniglia: If it’s not medium rare is it even steak?
SK: I think we all know the answer to that.
@jrdn_reed: Veggies?
SK: Sure! Anything in moderation!
@lbush: Dry or wet aged?
SK: Haven’t tried wet aged steak - but I do like the earthy flavor of dry aged.
@riknektar: What is Steak King’s favorite side with a beautiful steak?
SK: I’m simple - give me a caesar salad and a baked potato.
@heavy _ metal _ hunter: How do you get your steaks so juicy?
SK: My steak is naturally juicy.
@d_wheatley68: What is your cannot miss cut of steak?
SK: Bullseye cut.
@dajossel: How long do you rest your steaks?
SK: Depends on how tired they are.
